Mary Miller was born on 14 September 1809, before the War of 1812. She was born in South Carolina. She first married Zachariah Mayhew, who died. She then married Isaac Moody, who also predeceased Mary. In September 1909 there was a 100th birthday party for her at which over 1500 people attended. It was held at the Methodist church that was pastored by one of her sons. Mary passed away two months later on 15 November 1909, five years before The Great War (WWI).
