The hard wood cross stands behind a low hedge on the corner of Vernon Street and Gordon Streets. It stands about 40 cm clear of the south eastern corner of the Uniting Church building.
The arm piece is partly recessed into the vertical piece, with two bolts to retain in position.
This is the cross that first catches the eye on approaching the shopping centre, but there is another, smaller cross on top of the rectangular brick spire, just 10 metres west of this one, but because of its elevation it is easily missed (it is attached to the building.)
