The Young's Sutler's Store is a collapsing shambles, and is not safe to visit as of 2016.
It remains on the fort the Stockton driving tour however. Blasterz would recommend reading the signs from the safety of your car, and not exploring this old building on foot, since the roof is collapsing in miscellaneous pieces and parts and without notice.
The sign reads as follows:
"12
Young's Store
F. W. (Billy) Young opened Young's Store in 1876, as depicted on the transom. The building Houston officers club and had living quarters for laundress is from the fort. The retired Sergeant Frederick William Young purchased the building and the original construction date is not known. The young family lived in the store and operated it as a general store and saloon. Young founded the diamond why ranch and was later elected County surveyor, postmaster and 1880, Pecos County judge.
