Puvodní filiální borkovanský kostel byl malý a stál na obezdeném hrbitove uprostred obce. Dnešní kostel, zasvecený Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, pochází z r. 1746. V kostele se nachází hlavní oltár dva bocní zasvecené sv. Janu Nepomuckému a sv. Anne.
Kostel je jednolodní stavba ve stylu venkovského baroka s pulkruhove ukonceným knežištem. Z konce 18. stol. je kostelní kazatelna, na jejímž baldachýnu je umístena drevená socha sv. Jana Krtitele, dále krtitelnice s malým sousoším Krtu Páne a oltární obraz Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Ve veži kostela jsou zavešeny dva nové mohutné zvony z roku 1970. Sv. Cyril má hmotnost 540 kg a Panna Maria 460 kg. Z roku 1930 pocházejí pískovcové sochy sv. Cyrila a Metodeje na prucelí kostela. Roku 1939 byla porízena malovaná okna do presbytáre, o ctyri roky pozdeji i do lodi kostela. V predválecném období r. 1941 se kostel dockal dvou nových bocních oltáru – Panny Marie a Božského srdce, s vyrezávanými rámy s motivy révy, klasu a kvetin. Prestože byl kostel zasažen koncem II. svetové války ctyrmi bombami a byla silne poškozena vež, umelecké dílo škodu neutrpelo. Rok po válce byl kostel opraven.

Tak jako na celém Kloboucku, i v Borkovanech meli vždy své pocetné zastoupení evangelictí verící. Nebude tedy velkým prekvapením, že se i v Borkovanech nachází evangelická stavba – hrbitovní brána se zvonicí, jež zde byla vystavena roku 1857 jako první evangelická zvonice na Morave. Je tedy velmi vzácná a ojedinelá. Roku 1991 prošla zvonice generální opravou.

Filial borkovanský original church was a small walled cemetery stood on the middle of the village. Today's church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, comes from r. 1746. The church is the main altar, two side dedicated to St. John Nepomuk and St.. Anne.
The church is a single building in the style of rural Baroque finished with semicircular chancel. From the late 18th century. a church pulpit, on whose canopy is a wooden statue of St. John the Baptist, as well as the baptismal font with a small sculpture of the Baptism of the Lord and the altarpiece Assumption. In the tower of the church are hung two new massive bells from 1970. Sv. Cyril has a weight of 540 kg and 460 kg Virgin Mary. From 1930 comes sandstone statue of St. Cyril and Methodius church front. 1939 was taken by painted windows in the presbytery, four years later to the nave of the church. In the prewar period r. 1941 the church finally received two new side altars - Virgin Mary and the Sacred Heart, with carved frames with motifs of vines, spikes and flowers. Although the church was hit by the end of II. World War II bombs and four were heavily damaged tower artwork harm suffered. A year after the war, the church was repaired.

Just like the entire cap, even in Borkovany always had its many representations evangelical believers. It will therefore not surprising that even in Borkovany located Evangelical construction - cemetery gate with a bell tower, which was built here in 1857 as the first Protestant bell tower in Moravia. It is therefore very rare and unique. 1991 belfry underwent an overhaul.
