"An effigy of a 14th century cross-legged knight lies at the end of the south aisle. The rose emblem between his feet suggests he is William de Ros who died in 1352 while on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land."

It is more likely to be Thomas de Ros, 5th Baron de Ros (1338 – June 8, 1383), son of William de Ros, 3rd Baron de Ros.
He married Beatrice Stafford, daughter of the earl of Stafford, and she brought him the manor of Braunston in her dowry.
