Located in front of the Medford City Municipal Court is a metallic sculpture comprised of three hollow columns that stand upright. Each column contains etched illustrations on the outside surface.

Depending on who you talk to, this sculpture can be interpreted as three hollow tree trunks, three pieces of celery, or something else of an organic nature.

I visited this sculpture on September 27, 2014 and was saddened to find out when Waymarking this sculpture that the artist passed away suddenly, just days after my visit. He lived in Boulder, Colorado at the time.

There are a few articles from the local Medford Mail Tribune that highlight the controversy around this sculpture. You can read about it in more detail here.

You can also visit a webpage that mentions the artist's passing here.

The artist's website is still active and can be visited here.
