The lower parts of the steeple are from the 11.-12 century. They are relicts from former churches at this place. The upper part of the building was renewed in 1637. The St. Jakobus church was teared off in 1880 and only the steeple remained. Its bells were still rung till 1890.
Today the building serves as an public gallery and event location.
The old tower is the landmark of Lülsdorf.
