This cemetery is not maintained. The cemetery has been paved over by the sidealk and nearby road. The planter you see has nothing to do with the cemetery. It is there for landscaping of the city. The cemetery is actually the area around the historical marker, under the pavement and the planter.


The plaque says, "PUNTA DE LOS MUERTOS

LANDED HERE APRIL 11, 1769
SHIP SAN CARLOS
ARRIVED MAY 1, 1769
CREWS SICK WITH SCURVY
MANY DIED AND WERE BURIED
