This post office was built in the early 1900s, before the name of Yosemite was finally established. Then, mail would be stamped from "Yo Semite, California". This is a two story building that has been built with logs and wood from the local area, helping to significantly lower the cost of construction. The post officer serves mainly the park rangers and staff who live in the park but it is also a great place to collect the Yosemite Valley stamp on your postcard.
