This simple plaque on a brick base in a small flowerbed honours the Man of the Parish of German who laid down their lives in the Great War (1914-18) and the Second World War (1939-45). It is located on the other side of the road, opposite the Royal Chapel of St John the Baptist (Tynwald Church).
Below the Names is the Ode of Remembrance, an excerpt from 'For The Fallen' by Laurence Binyon:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
