L'attentat de la rue de Rennes est un attentat perpétré le mercredi 17 septembre 1986 dans le 6e arrondissement de Paris, face au 140 de la rue de Rennes devant le magasin Tati (et le siège du magazine Le Point). L'engin explosif éclatait à 17 h 20 dans une poubelle municipale fixée au sol sur le trottoir, à trois mètres des vitrines, et fit sept morts et cinquante-cinq blessés.
Il s'agit du dernier et du plus meurtrier des quatorze attentats revendiqués par le « Comité de solidarité avec les prisonniers politiques arabes et du Proche-Orient », fomenté par Fouad Ali Saleh pour le compte du Hezbollah libanais avec pour objectif de faire cesser le soutien apporté par la France à l'Irak dans le conflit qui l'oppose à l'Iran et d'obtenir les libérations de trois terroristes détenus en France : Anis Naccache (réseau iranien), Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (réseau libanais FARL) et Varadjian Garbidjan (réseau arménien ASALA). Cette période va être nommée « septembre noir » et s'achève définitivement avec l'arrestation de Fouad Ali Saleh le 21 mars 1987 par les policiers de la Direction de la Surveillance du territoire et la neutralisation de son réseau.

The attack on Rue de Rennes is an attack carried out on Wednesday 17 September 1986 in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, opposite 140 rue de Rennes in front of the Tati store (and the headquarters of Le Point magazine). The explosive device burst at 5:20 pm in a municipal rubbish bin attached to the ground on the pavement, three meters from the windows, and left seven dead and fifty-five wounded.
It is the latest and most deadly of the fourteen attacks claimed by the "Committee of Solidarity with Arab and Near-East Political Prisoners", fomented by Fouad Ali Saleh on behalf of Lebanese Hezbollah with the aim of putting an end to the French support for Iraq in the conflict with Iran and the release of three terrorists detained in France: Anis Naccache (Iranian network), Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (Lebanese network FARL) and Varadjian Garbidjan (Armenian network ASALA). This period will be called "Black September" and ends definitively with the arrest of Fouad Ali Saleh on 21 March 1987 by the police officers of the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance and the neutralization of its network.
