This interpretive sign inside the ruins of the Presidio to San Saba at Menard marks the location of the Presidio's Plaza, an important gathering spot that would be filled with activity during the years that this was an active Presidio.
The sign reads as follows:
"PLAZA
Each day the Presidio was alive with activity, as women baked bread, being simmered in meat roasted. The yard echoed with the noise of livestock, children, dogs, and soldiers."
