Lyle Stanley built this church in 1954 for $2250.00. Members of the church helped with construction. Rev Childress is known for bringing the gospel and social change to this area. A book about his life "The Man who moved a Mountain" is well worth reading. Still being used as a church. New name is New Beginnings Church of God.
