There is a 'brown' anodised plaque, on a 'orange' stone plinth, at the entrance to the Jeff Vandenbergh Viewing Platform, just off the car park at Old Bar beach.

Jeff died in 1998, from leukemia.

This viewing platform was named to honour Jeff's contribution to the local community.
As a Life Member of the Old Bar Surf Club, he was involved in many rescues and helped save many lives.
He played Cricket, Hockey, Rugby League and Rugby Union for local teams.
He was also a Life Member of Old Bar Bronzed Joggers.
He gave of his time freely to local beautification projects.
He loved the sea.
