This memorial used to stand right beside the busy Pacific Highway, until Kew was bypassed, so only the 'local' traffic from the south gets to go past it. (Now called Nancy Bird Walton Drive, in memory of a local aviatrix).
It stands just a little down hill from the Kew Visitors Centre.
A small tab at the bottom, on the eastern side shows that the work was done by Edstein & Sons, a local stonemason of Taree.
I would assume that there is some significance to two of the soldiers listed on the memorial being in a black border, and probably that they were Killed In Action.

The wording of the upper (rectangular) block reads:
FOR GOD, KING, AND EMPIRE
[Pte. Wallace W.]
[ " Nelson A.L.]
Sgt. Delaney L.T.
" " Smith R. S.
Pte. Watts J. F.
" " Watts H. R.
" " Watts A. A.
" " Watts R.
" " Nelson L.H.

On the bottom rectangular white marble block has the following:
Erected By The Residents Of Kew
In Honor Of The Men Of The Town
Who served In The Great War
1914-1918.
