There are more Texas Rangers buried here at Copperas Cemetery than Blasterz Avenue ever seen in one place before. We counted at least seven, attesting to the how necessary these presence of brave men, who helped tame the frontier in pioneer days, was. The strong presence of the Texas Rangers, coupled with that of the U.S. Army in the years before and after the US Civil War, allowed Anglos to settle in this formerly wild area of Texas, the traditional home of Comanches and other Native American tribes.
