In the center of Lake George is Shepard Park, which has Centennial Fountain to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the village.
The park is located on the east side of U.S. 9 between the road and Lake George.
The fountain is located near the road side of the park, with a walkway right to it. The fountain is a feature with a ring of brick and stone about one and a half feet high, with rough stone arranged within it and all sorts of grassess, ferns, and other plants arranged on them. Water oozes out of the rocks and falls to the pool below.
Surrounding the fountain is a brick plaza with donated bricks. Nearby is a brick post with a plaque on it. The top part states, "Lake George Village Centennial Committee 1903 - 2003." Below that is a listing of names on the committee, then a statement thanking them for their efforts.
