Vinari odjakživa uctívali jako své patrony svetce. V ceských a moravských krajích byli a jsou uctíváni napríklad svatý Urban, Bartolomej, Vavrinec, Václav ci Vincent.

Svatý Urban

Na Morave je patronem uctíván papež svatý Urban, který bývá zobrazován s hroznem vína. Legenda nám ríká, že se ukryl pred pronásledovateli ve vinici a tím si zachránil život. proto se restaurace jmenuje po svatém Urbanovi, který krom toho že byl rímským papežem, se stal patronem vinaru, vína a vinohradu. Narodil se ve druhém století a podle jedné z legend obrátil prý Valeriána, ženicha Ceciliina, na krestanství a pokrtil ho. Zemrel v roce 230. Jeho hrob byl pri vykopávkách roku 1854 nalezen na Via Apia v Ríme.
