Boomtown Heritage is the work of Danny Bills, sponsored by First Bank. His coloring reflects the North Texas heat, with his head, upper body, and tail being a dark red, fading into dark yellow and orange. Pump jacks and derricks are on each side, with their black color matching the horse's legs.

Background Story:
The Mane Event began as a project of the Leadership Wichita Falls Class of 2007, with approximately 45 painted fiberglass horses being decorated by local artists, and then sold to sponsors and bidders at auction. The project raised $144,000 for Patsy's House, the Faith Mission, and Downtown Wichita Falls Development, Inc, and remain today throughout the city as a contribution to public art.
Leadership Wichita Falls, Inc. is a local non-profit organization dedicated to developing community leaders through a community orientation and leadership program.
