In lake George, behind the Old Warren County Courthouse, is this mural about the body of water within sight - Lake George.
The mural is painted on a brick wall on the north side of Amherst Street, which is off U.S. Route 9.
The mural is a nicely painted and fairly accurate rendition of Lake George. Features are named both in the lake and along the shore, including names of bays and villages. Within the lake area are profiles of cruise boats that sailed on the lake with the names below. To the left is a coat of arms and the name in a banner, "Lake George Steamboat Company," with additional words below, "Est. 1817, World's Oldest Steamboat Company." Also by the lake is a long orientation arrow and compass rose.
The mural is faded and chipped but still readable.
I could not find any information directly about the mural. Below is the web site for the Lake George Steamboat Company, with a history of the vessels it used.
