This LAV was dedicated as a memorial on 15 September, 2016. It is dedicated to the 40,000 Canadian Forces personnel who served in Afghanistan from 2001-2014, and to the 162 Canadians who died in the cause of bringing peace and freedom to the people of Afghanistan.
The LAV III and marker are located about 10 meters way from the Afghanistan Memorial.
The marker reads:
"In recognition and memory of the efforts of the approximately 40,000 Canadian Forces personnel who served and the 162 Canadians who died in the cause of bringing peace and freedom to the people of Afghanistan."
with the dates 2001-2014 beneath that.
Access is from Highway 2 west of Canadian Forces Base Trenton.
