Years ago the settlers in this area baked the limestone, rocks in this kiln to produce 'lime'. The lime was used in making mortar and plaster for construction purposes.
This structure is 15 ft. long, 12 ft. wide, and over 11 ft. high. It is crescent shaped with an arched openings at each end.
