This well was restored years ago as a centerpiece of a downtown park. Today it serves as an information board for the nearly Newton Cabin, one of a handful (or fewer) surviving structures from the Peters Colony days in North Texas.

We were told by a local resident this was a well for downtown long ago, but have not been able to confirm that. Today is has been restored and cemented shut for safety.
