The hotel building dates back to 1855, however the business is no longer in operation. Visitors to the edifice have reported the apparition of a black-caped man with a cane roaming the second floor.

I myself haven't visited this former hotel but if I do I will report back here with any new apparition info. Stay tuned.

This former hotel holds much history. President Rutherford B. Hayes even stayed here. As of now, the former hotel has been converted to private apartments upstairs and a museum devoted to Gold Rush history (Yreka came to be because of the discovery of gold) and a barbershop downstairs.

You can read more about this building from a local blog site here.
