The monument says, "Remembering the men an women who served in the armed forces in the case of freedom". It was dedicated on October 26, 1943 and rededicated on November 6, 1994.
The plaque at the base reads, "Presented to the borough of Strasburg June 1, 1976 from the bicentennial committee of Strasburg."
