This 'red telephone box' was painted gold as a celebration of Peter Kennaugh's gold medal win at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Peter was born in Onchan.
On 3 August 2012 Peter alongside Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas, Steven Burke, the Team GB pursuit team, took the Gold Medal at the Summer Olympics in a time of 3:51.659, shatterring their own world record that they had set in qualifying.
Peter was the first Manxman to win an Olympic gold since 1912.
