Der Gnadenstuhl ist ein Bildtypus der christlichen Kunst. Es stellt die Dreifaltigkeit dar. In eine Großzahl der Kunstwerke hält Gott der Vater das Kruzifix mit dem toten Jesus, während die Taube als Symbol des Heiligen Geistes darüber schwebt. Der Gnadenstuhl gilt dabei als das bedeutendste mittelalterliche Motiv der Dreifaltigkeit. Es soll dabei helfen, sich das Geheimnis der Dreifaltigkeit besser vorstellen zu können.
