This Bald Eagle nest has been in this tree for 11 years as of 2016. There have been a total of 18 eaglets produced. The original male still occupies the nest while the original female went missing in 2013. A new female arrived later in 2013.
Ohio's eagle population has gone from 4 nests in 1979 to over 200 nests in 2016 with approx. 341 eaglets.
A Bald Eagle can live from 25 to 30 years. When the young leave the nest they go to the western end of Lake Erie to mature and then come back to nest 50 - 100 mlies from the birth nest.
