In the palace garden, close to Wilhelmshöhe castle, you cand find a memorial plate, dedicated to Erdmann, the emporer's favorite dog.

Erdmann, a dachshund, lived from 1890 to August 1901. He was a hunting dog of the emperor.

Wilhelmshöhe castle was the imperial residence of Wilhelm II during summer.

Text on the plaque:
"Andenken an meinen treuen Dachshund Erdmann 1890-1901 W II"
["Memorial to my faithful dachshund Erdmann 1890-1901 W II"]

It's not exactly known, if this is the dog's gravesite or just a memorial place.
