This bronze plaque commemorating Barry John Gore is on a wooden slat bench on the harbour edge of Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens.

The wooden slat bench is painted a 'light' mission brown, but was in rather poor condition on my visit on Sunday, 10 January, 2015, with paint peeling off it. It has cast 'iron' arm rests on either end, and is bolted securely to a concrete slab beside the bitumen pathway that goes around the Botanic Gardens from Mrs Macquarie's Chair to the Opera House.
The plaque reads:
"For you Barry John Gore
Your place in the shade"
It has a GREAT view of the Sydney Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge, with a sign on the water's edge sandstone capping reading: NO EXIT TO BOATS Fines Apply".
Where is this bench located?: Sydney Botanic Gardens
Who is this bench honoring?: Barry John Gore
