Servicing the South Burnaby neighbourhoods Edmonds Station opened on December 11, 1985. At that time it connected people to either Downtown Vancouver or Downtown New Westminster by riding only one train. Today the Expo Line extends into Surrey and also loops around to access Simon Fraser University.
