Large bell, cast in 1912 by the Meneely & Company of West Troy, NY. It replaced the bell that had hung in the old tower behind the Fire Department. That bell was lost in a fire in 1898.
This bell was originally in the Episcopal Church in Middleport. The Church leased use of the bell as a fire warning alarm for the princely sum of $25/year.
In 1952, the bell was moved from the church to its present location, and dedicated as a memorial to all deceased members of the fire department.
