Po vzniku první sokolské jednoty v Praze v r. 1862 nalézají Tyršovy a Fügnerovy myšlenky živnou pudu pro vznik sokolských jednot v dalších mestech a na venkove.
V Komíne pomohli ustavit pobocku své jednoty clenové žabovreského Sokola v r. 1905. Nadšením a obetavostí nekolika málo clenu (31) museli obcany presvedcovat, že telesná cvicení prospívají zdraví. Stavely se jim do cesty predsudky spolecenské, náboženské i politické. Scházejí se, cvicí venku, pozdeji ve stodole, když jim obecní výbor zamítl zapujcení místnosti ve staré škole a též louky za rekou.
V r. 1907 cvicí 7 clenu na II. Všesokolském sletu v Praze a v r. 1909 porádá naše jednota okrskové verejné cvicení. Jednotlivé skladby nacvicili na dvore prvního starosty. Byl jím bratr Vecera, nácelníkem bratr Doležal, jednatelem bratr Drahovzal, pokladníkem bratr Kloupar. Cinnost se rozrustá, hrají divadlo, porádají výlety, zábavy, z výtežku kupují náradí a zrizují knihovnu.
Silný rozvoj jednoty prerušila 1. svetová válka. Hlavní cinovníci odcházejí na frontu. Cinnost jednoty udržují ženy. Cvicí, podporují rodiny, jejichž otcové narukovali, knihy uschovávají ve svých domácnostech. Prorídlé rady clenu se po válce opet dávají s novou chutí do sokolské práce. V r. 1919 už pravidelne cvicí všechny složky a na VIII. Všesokolském sletu v Praze cvicí 16 dorostencu a 30 clenu naší jednoty.
Zakoupením pozemku zacínají budovat vlastní hrište na brehu reky Svratky. Dva roky zavážejí kamením z blízkého kamenolomu koryto staré mlýnské strouhy, která pretínala budoucí hrište. Upravují breh reky, vysazují lípy a topoly. Vlastním nákladem provádí adaptaci v sále u Doležalu (dnešní u Dvoráku) pro provoz vlastního kina, aby bylo možno zajistit financní základ.
Blížilo se 25. výrocí založení jednoty. Touha zbudovat vlastní sokolovnu byla hlavním motivem usnesení valné hromady v r. 1929. Téhož roku byl slavnostne položen základní kámen ke stavbe sokolovny. Pro všechny cleny jednoty zacalo období nezištné, obetavé a vycerpávající práce. Pres 4.000 odpracovaných hodin jen pri úprave terénu a hloubení základu. Na darech a bezúrocných pujckách bylo získáno 85.000 Kc, nepocítaných hodin schuzování a vytrvalého zarizování clenu stavební komise a výboru jednoty. Projekt architekta Koprivy byl v cervenci 1929 jednotou prijat a již v srpnu bylo zapocato se stavbou. Ta byla slavnostne otevrena 22. cervna 1930. V této dobe bylo již 300 clenu jednoty.
Dále žila jednota bohatou cinností telovýchovnou, kulturní a spolecenskou a mela spoustu dalších plánu.
Sokol se však stal nepohodlným a nebezpecným pro všechny totalitní režimy. Nejdríve byl zakázán v r. 1915, druhá likvidace Sokola byla v r. 1941, kdy jej rozprášili nacisté a potretí po r. 1948 jej pohltila sjednocená telovýchova. Pri všech trech odbojích prinesla velká rada bratrí a sester obet nejvyšší.
Listopad 1989 znamenal pro Sokol zacátek nové éry. Obnova Sokola ležela hlavne na bedrech tech, kterí v minulosti prošli sokolskou výchovou. Mladší se o Sokole dozvídají prostrednictvím vyprávení rodicu a prarodicu, to však nikdy nemuže zobrazit osobní prožitek.
Dne 11. dubna 1990 byla obnovena cinnost naší jednoty v Komíne. Znacne zdevastovaná budova sokolovny nám byla vrácena dne 1. cervence 1991, však puvodní sokolské hrište nám vráceno nebylo.
V prubehu posledních let probehly velké rekonstrukce a opravy budovy. Výmena oken, vchodových dverí, podlahy v telocvicne, instalace plynového topení, oprava fasády, vybudování sociálního zarízení a klubovny.
Krome oddílu všestrannosti pusobí v jednote nekolik oddílu florbalu, volejbalu, košíkové a stolního tenisu. Naše sokolovna slouží nejen ke cvicení, konají se zde ruzné spolecenské akce (plesy, besedy, výstavy).
V nové politické situaci není treba klást duraz na obranu cešství a demokracie tak, jak o ni bylo nutné usilovat v dobe prelomu 19. a 20. století. V platnosti však zustávají - mely by zustávat - hodnoty morální, duchovní a fyzické, které byly v minulosti v Sokole mnohem více než nyní prosazovány a plneny.

Strong development of unity interrupted by World War 1. Officials went to the front. Activities to maintain the unity of women. Trains, support families whose fathers were enlisted, custody books in their homes. Depleted ranks of members after the war again give a new flavor to Sokol work. V r. 1919 already exercise regularly, all folders and VIII. Sokol Prague train 16 youths and 30 members of our unity.
Purchasing land are beginning to build their own playground on the banks of the river Svratka. Two years Zavážejí stones from the nearby quarry trough old mill ditches that intersected the prospective field. Regulate the river bank, planted lindens and poplars. Own expense performs adaptation in the hall at Doležalu (today at Dvoráku) to operate its own cinema, in order to secure financial basis.
We are approaching the 25th anniversary of unity. The desire to build their own gymnasium was the main motive resolution of the General Meeting in the year. 1929. In the same year was solemnly laid the foundation stone for construction of gymnasium. For all members of the Unity began a period of selfless, dedicated and exhausting work. Over 4,000 hours worked only when landscaping and digging foundations. On donations and interest-free loans were obtained CZK 85,000, uncounted hours of meeting time and sustained arranging members of the Building Committee and the Committee of unity. The project architect Nettles was in July 1929 adopted unity and in August they started to build. It was inaugurated on 22 June 1930. At that time, it was already 300 member unity.
Furthermore lived unity rich physical education activities, cultural and social and have many other plans.
Sokol, however, become uncomfortable and unsafe for all totalitarian regimes. First was banned in r. 1915, Sokol was the second destruction of r. 1941, when it routed the Nazis and the third time after r. 1948 it absorbed a unified physical education. In all three resistance has brought a large number of brothers and sisters made the ultimate sacrifice.
November 1989 marked the beginning of a new era Sokol. Restoring Sokol lay mainly on the shoulders of those who have suffered Sokol education. Younger about Sokol learn through stories of parents and grandparents, but it can never receive personalized experience.
On April 11, 1990 was relaunched our unity in the chimney. Considerably devastated building gymnasium us was recovered on July 1, 1991, however, the original Sokol course it was not returned.
In recent years, we were major reconstruction and repair of buildings. Replacing windows, entrance doors, the floor in the gym, gas heating installation, repair facades, construction of social facilities and clubhouse.
Except sections versatility has united different sections of floorball, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. Our Sokol serves not only to exercise held here various social events (receptions, meetings, exhibitions).
In the new political situation, there is no need to put emphasis on defense Czechism and democracy as it was necessary for her to seek during the 19th and 20th centuries. In effect, however, they remain - should remain - the value of the moral, spiritual and physical, which in the past were in Sokol much more than now promoted and fulfilled.
