Gulf Coast Medical Center is a hospital facility of the LEE HEALTH system. It opened in March of 2009 when the Southwest Regional Hospital and Gulf Coast Hospital merged into this new state-of-the-art hospital. The medical center consists of 436,000 square feet of new construction and 20,000 square feet of renovation to the former facility.
This is an acute care facility with 240 private rooms, 356 licensed beds, 12 stroke beds, 43 emergency department beds and 22 operating rooms. Approximately 47,000 patients are seen annually.
