In den Gebäuden der Schwalbacher Straße 7 war bis 2008 die Feuerwehr für Bad Homburg Stadtmitte untergebracht. Dann erfolgte der Umzug in die neue Feuerwache an der Dietigheimer Straße 12.
Nun ist hier das Deutsche Rotes Kreuz (DRK), Ortsverband Bad Homburg untergebracht.
Gut zu sehen ist, dass das DRK hier Altkleider sammelt. Sie werden in Kleiderkammern gebracht, wo sie an Bedürftige - auch in Katastrophengebieten - weiter gegeben werden bzw. verkauft werden und der Erlös in die Hilfstätigkeit fließt.
Aber auch hinter den Mauern - also nicht sofort sichtbar - wird das Rotes Kreuz aktiv. So betreut die Bereitschaft Bad Homburg viele Veranstaltungen und (Fußball, Reit, etc) Turniere, auf denen ein Sanitätsdienst benötigt wird. (

The headquarter of the firefighters in the city of Bad Homburg was here in the Schwalbacher Street Number 7. They moved in 2008 to Dietigheimer Street 12.
Today (in 2016) the ("Charity" organization) Red Cross, chapter city of Bad Homburg, uses the buildings.
It is easy to see that they set up several containers for the collection of old clothing. They are either given to poor people (in case the cloths are still good to be worn again), sent to disaster areas or sold and the money is used for financing their aid.
But there are acitivies of the red cross behind the walls of the building as well. They are in charge for the medical service for big events and sport tournaments. They teach you in First Aid. Also young people can get involved in the local Red Cross activities.
