Ornate bronze and concrete fountain dedicated to Joseph Swan by his wife. It is located on Memorial Parkway median at the southeast corner of Elm Street, directly across from the Statue of Liberty replica.
The description from the Smithsonian website:
"A small bronze figure of Pan playing the flute is installed atop a short granite shaft in the center of a rectangular fountain basin. Below Pan, on each side of the shaft, are two gargoyles with coiled tails, sitting on the edge of the fountain basin, holding up pans to collect water. The fountain has four waterspouts in the form of dog and fish heads. Water flows into bronze sea shells mounted on the shaft, and then into the large granite basin below. At each end of the fountain are water troughs for animals."
The fountain was dedicated in 1910, and received restoration work in 2015. It is still in use as an animal watering spot.
Water spout is used: yes
