Der Löwe krönt den Handschwengelpumpen-Typ „kleiner Löwe“. Die Plastik zeigt einen sitzenden auf dem Stadtwappen von Leipzig stützenden Löwen. Ursprünglich war der Löwe aus Blech. Nach der Restauration ist es ein Gussteil.

The lion caps the hand operated water pump - type "little lion". The sculpture shows a sitting lion resting on the Leipzig city arms. Originally, the lion was made of sheet metal. After restoration, it is a cast part.
