This church built in 1907 by Rev. J. P. Pirot. His stonemason brothers from Belgium and parishioners required over 1600 loads of local fieldstones. It was consecreated Nov. 1908 by Archbishop Langevin of St. Boniface.
This Church marks the first worship centre for first Hungarian and Slovak settlers in Saskatchewan, brought to this area in 1886 by Count Paul Esterhazy, a CPR colonization agent. It replaced the log church built on this site by Fr. A. Page in 1892. The 10 acre site was donated by J. Smerekovsky.
