According to the Ontario birth registration, Eva Jane Gertrude King (daughter of Job L King and Catherine McAllister) was born in Huron county, 14 January 1898. By the census of 1911 and 1921, the King family was still residing in Grey township, Huron county.

According to the Ontario marriage registration (1924 #007501), Eva Jane Gertrude King (nurse) married Sidney Graham Hawes (divorced) in Ottawa, 5 January 1924. Sidney Hawes was previously married to Mary Idell Ethier. Sidney's first marriage took place in Franklin county, Vermont, in 1913.
