Queen Creek wash is normally dry but is prone to occasional flash floods. Thus the Maricopa County Highway Dept. has chosen to bridge the wash. This benchmark is located on the east side of the bridge to its southern end.Embedded in the concrete sidewalk, the gray metal disk is partially obscured with concrete on its northwestern edge. Across the outside of the disk is stamped Maricopa County Hwy. Dept. In the upper center is the number 1387.86 and in the lower center 1991. The disk is located approximately 13 feet north of the beginning of the bridge concrete and 15 feet east of the center line of the road.
