The International Order of Odd Fellows lodge building has stood on the square in downtown Lancaster since 1904. In 1916, members assembled inside for a sad duty: to write a resolution of sympathy after one of their members suffered the death of his wife.
That resolution ran in the Lancaster Herald, the local paper, on 28 April 1916.
