The original old town well was destroyed in a tornado that roared through downtown Lancaster in 1994. Mama Blaster remembers that tornado -- and the efforts of this town to rebuild. In 2016, the town square is a vibrant and busy place again. A close replica of the old town well is in place in the center of the rotary that always defined the square, a reminder of Lancaster's rural agricultural past.
