[FR] Une abbaye bénédictine, fondée par saint Wulmer au VIIe ou VIIIe siècle, est détruite au IXe siècle lors des invasions normandes, reconstruite au XIIe siècle puis désaffectée sous la Révolution.
À proximité, une chapelle est construite au XIIe siècle, formant la partie nord, appelée chapelle de la Vierge, et le chœur de l'église actuelle.
Un plus grand chœur est édifié pour l'église au XVe siècle, en style gothique flamboyant, et juxtaposé au chœur antérieur. Des colonnes avec chapiteaux romans seraient un remploi provenant de l'ancienne église abbatiale. Détruite au XVIe siècle, l'église est restaurée au siècle suivant. De nouveau endommagée à la Révolution, elle est restaurée au XIXe siècle. Son fronton date de 1863.
L'intérieur comporte des fonts baptismaux du XIe siècle, et des décors romans venant de l'ancienne abbatiale. Il est restauré en 1935.
Les maisons accolées à l'extérieur forment avec l'église un ensemble original et rare.
[EN] A Benedictine abbey, founded by Saint Wulmer in the seventh or eighth century, was destroyed in the ninth century during the Norman invasions, rebuilt in the 12th century and then decommissioned during the Revolution.
Nearby, a chapel is built in the 12th century, forming the northern part, called Chapel of the Virgin, and the choir of the present church.
A larger choir is built for the church in the 15th century, in flamboyant Gothic style, and juxtaposed to the anterior choir. Columns with Roman capitals would be a replenishment from the former abbey church. Destroyed in the 16th century, the church was restored in the following century. Once again damaged during the Revolution, it was restored in the 19th century. Its pediment dates from 1863.
The interior features baptismal fonts from the 11th century, and Romanesque decorations from the former abbey church. It was restored in 1935.
The houses adjoined to the exterior form an original and rare ensemble with the church.
