One of Monroe County, Wisconsin's biggest attractions is the Paul and Matilda Wegner Grotto just South of Cataract at West of Tubbs Crossing off of Wisconsin 71. Their peace grotto brings in countless visitors each year to see the glass and concrete creations this couple started in 1929. Just down Daylight Road from the grotto sits this country cemetery. The first interment in this plot was in 1857. Only a hand full of families have been buried in this cemetery to include the namesake Greeno's and the Wegner's. Today it's still active for these families only. The final renting place of Paul and Matilda Wegner as well as a few other Wegner's are decorated as intricate as the grotto with concrete and glass.
