There is a plaque on either side of the entrance to the Church, the foundation stone on the right and the completion stone on the left.
The foundation stone for the church was laid on 29th of April 1939, due to shortages of materials during and after WW2 the brick and corrugated iron roofed building was not completed and opened by two elders of the Church in November 1947

The stone commemorating the opening reads:-

"To the Glory of God
on behalf of voluntary workers
this building was opened by
O.D.T.Street Esq
and
C.J.Archer Esq
on 15th November 1947
The completion was delayed by
World War 2"
