The Cobb Ridge Campground is located in the Mark Twain National Forest. It is a popular destination for ATVs and dirt bikes as there are a number of ATV trails leading out from the campground.
The campground itself is quite nice, being heavily treed up along a ridge. The roads through the campground are paved. Pull-through trailer sites are also paved. Tent pads are raised with fine crushed gravel. Our site has a thick layer of oak leaves in late May which made it quite comfortable. The entire park road system is lined with cedar rail fencing - presumably to keep the off-road vehicles on the road (as opposed to on the campsites). This campground is open year-round.
Camping fees are quite reasonable - $10 for a tent site, $15 for a serviced site. Washrooms are okay with showers.
And about those off-road vehicles. I was worried about the noise when I chose this site for a stop-over on our way to Texas. And when we pulled in on a Sunday night on the Memorial Day weekend, the site host did give us a bit of a "are you lost" sort of look - although he was very nice and encouraged us to choose a site near the far back of the park. Yes, there are ATVs driving around and yes they are noisy. But we found, at least on the one night that we stayed there, all went quiet before 10 pm and stayed that way until at least 8 am.
Check you-tube for multiple videos of this part and of the ATV trails.
