geocache located at this jail brought my wife and I here. We weren't able to find the geocache but we were able to see some neat former history of this town. The geocache description describes the jail and it reads:
This is a piece of old western history for this area. A double holding cell jail just off highway 395. Prisoners would be held here until they could be transported to the Lassen County jail in Susanville. The construction of this old jail is very unique.
This former holding cell was obviously located somewhere else in town and relocated to its current location. I'm trying to find out more information from the Lassen County Historical Society on this structure. If/when I get any info, I'll post it here.
