Village of Dyasart
The first survey of the village site was undertaken in November, 1904. It was a subdivison of part of E1/2 9-23-15-W2, Assiniboia, NWT. The community has been served by a branch line of the CPR that runs North of the Qu'Appelle Valley since 1906.
The village is named after the chief engineer of the Canadian Pacific Railway line from Brandon to Bulyea, and he named it after his hometown in Scotland.
The earliest settlers arrived in the years 1883-1886 when Dysart was incorporated as a village in 1909 the population was 79. It is located in the Rural Municipality of Lipton No. 217.
Erected January 1984 by the Village of Dysart. Dysart and District Historical Society and Saskatchewan Culture and Recreation.
