Beschreibung

Description
In Kalenborn the Swistbach springs. This name derives its name from the ancient Celtic water deities, which are mostly found in the Dreizahl.
The Romans called them "matronae", and in the old Swistgia they have placed numerous monuments. Most often they represent the three sister deities, in particular goddesses of fertility, giving. In general, they have different names in each place, which also contributed to the name of the place or landscape.
On the Swist, numerous worship places of the Swist goddesses are still to be found today. In the Kalenborner area, however, to this day no place has been discovered. It is to be assumed, however, that the Celts had some places of worship at the source of the Swist-brook, and there were already human settlements there.
A few peculiar earth elevations (small wall on the Holmich, Graben and Wall near the Vischeler Kirchweg) are reminiscent of Celtic settlements.
Most of these ramparts were centrifuges, where the Celts withdrew only in times of danger. In fact, the burial grounds must be close to the ramparts. However, none could be discovered yet."
