Hollywood Video employees Jowanda Castillo, 18, Zachary Blacklock, 19, and Mylinh Daothi, 30 were murder on March 3, 1996 after an armed robbery by a couple. Blacklock's grandparents were also kidnapped when they went to pick up their grandson. The grandparent's bodies were found in the mountains north of Albuquerque.

The store has closed, but there's a small memorial to the vicitims in front of the strip mall.
